as we embark upon Annual Training.

Next year marks the 90 years since the founding of the Shinnyo Path and the 120th birth anniversary of Master Shinjo... I feel very deeply how our enhancement projects at Oyasono progressed with all of your efforts. We are, at last, here to welcome the completion of the Shinnyo Stupa.
Let me announce the commemorative emblem and theme. The theme of Annual Training 2026 is:” Walking in shinnyo – with the world, into the future.” Our emblem for next year also includes the shinnyo logo and motifs of the sun, moon, and stars that represent the Shinnyo Parents and the Ryodoji to express our wish for the awakening of shinnyo to be shared with the world and into the future... In the 50th year of the Shinnyo Path, Master Shinjo taught that our efforts, large and small, can have the effect of uplifting all beings in the world and cosmos. No matter the size of our efforts, we can share them with the world and cosmos to uplift all beings. Let us engage in selfless practices for others in every possible way.
I mentioned our 90th anniversary, but let us go forward in one mind and heart towards our centennial so that the Shinnyo Path may uplift people throughout the world. Let us do our best towards our 90th year and Master Shinjo’s 120th birth anniversary. Please do your best. Thank you.

What is Annual Training?
At Shinnyo-en, members take this period as an opportunity to take themselves back to the origins of the Shinnyo Path and reflect on the founding spirit of the Shinnyo Parents. Shinnyo-en was born out of the decision of its founders, Shinjo and Tomoji, to undertake spiritual training in early January of 1936. Feeling they wanted to do more for the world around them, they resolved to live a life based on loving compassion and the altruistic, selfless wish to help others do the same.
The Annual Training period at Shinnyo-en is an opportunity for us to do the same—to reflect on how far we’ve come, to recharge by drawing fresh inspiration, and to refocus—setting out on a renewed course toward achieving our spiritual goals. Annual Training is a new start that can help us reflect on how, like Shinjo and Tomoji, we can make use of what we encounter ahead to transform our lives. For them, it meant becoming a guiding light for others.
